We had so much fun at Arts in Ed Day today! Be sure to ask us about the magician, calligraphy, improv, the bells, and the juggler! Next week we have a lot of exciting events including Tritt's STEM Showcase, Invention Convention, and guest speaker Eleanor Roosevelt.
Here's a look at what we're learning: Math: Fractions Reading: Comprehension & Story Elements Language Arts: Top Secret! We are working on our products for Author's Tea, but that's all I can tell you. We hope you can join us on May 10th from 7:30 - 8:00 as we share our final products. Science: Magnets Social Studies: Cesar Chavez & Major U.S. Rivers *Students have a map test on the rivers & mountain ranges on Thursday, May 4th. They've had their map in their Take Home Folder for several weeks to study so they should be ready. STEM Showcase - Parents Welcome! Today your child is bringing home a blue information sheet from Mrs. Bates and Mrs. Pascual about Invention Convention. Please cut off the bottom of the sheet, sign it, and return it to school on Monday. Thank you! Directions are attached to the registration form, but I want to point out that you need to sign the back of the form and return it inside the unsealed envelope along with stamps. If you do not include stamps, you will have to come to the school to pick up your child's report card. Several students have returned their envelopes without stamps. If you did not include stamps in your child's envelope and you want your child's report card mailed to you, please send in 4 stamps.
Milestones Testing starts on Wednesday, April 19. Please be sure that your child arrives to school on time. Testing begins promptly at 8:00. If your child is late, they will not be allowed to come to the classroom until after testing is complete for that day, and they will have to make up that section of the test.
