· Please send in a transportation note if your child is starting a FAST class this Spring. You don’t have to send one each week unless you want to do so; however, please send a note the first week of the class. · Please send in pencils for your child to keep in their desk or pencil box. · Spelling Test this Friday: Words: wear, blare, pair, flare, hair, bear, barely, repair, cherry · Thursday night is International Night · Friday is the 2nd Grade Stem Showcase. Hope to see you there! We will be going on a field trip to Fire Safety Village in February. Please sign and return the permission slip that your child brought home today. Note that you need to indicate your child's lunch choice on the back of the permission slip. Second grade students are now participating in Morning Run. Please have your child wear a coat or jacket and tennis shoes daily so that they may participate in Morning Run.

I hope everyone had a relaxing and fun winter break. Report cards were sent home today in your child's folder. The report card is yours to keep. Please sign and return the unsealed envelope on Monday. On Monday we are having a school-wide Wear Your Favorite Team Colors in honor of the National Championship game. This is completely optional. I will be wearing red and black for our Georgia Bulldogs!
Please remember to have your child wear a coat or jacket to school during the cold weather months. On Monday, second grade students will begin going outside to the track for Morning Run. In order to participate in Morning Run, they must wear tennis shoes and a coat. Mrs. Smarr talked to our class today about Morning Run procedures. Students must come to our room before going outside for morning run.
