Dear Parents,
Although it is only the middle of January, the end of school will come fast and soon you will have a fourth grader! If you have not been through the transition before, it can be cumbersome. One major change is transitioning from a standards-based report card (1, 2, 3) to a traditional grade-based report card (A, B, C, D, F). We want to help you see the correlations in what your child’s grades would be if they were letter grades and not “1, 2, 3”. Beginning Tuesday, January 17 the third grade teachers will begin recording % grades on students’ papers. We will continue to do this until the end of the year. The grade recorded for report cards in third grade will still only reflect the standards-based score. Here is a conversion chart for your reference: A 90-100% B 80-89% C 74-79% D 69-73% F 0-68% Sincerely, The 3rd Grade Team Comments are closed.
