The students attended a kick off yesterday for the third grade Invention Convention. Ask them about the fun, inspiring videos they saw and about the inventions the kids had created. MOST of the first steps will be done at school. Mrs. Bates and Mrs. Pascual are working together with the students, and they will use class time in the ILC and Computer Lab to complete much of the work. The projects are due May 3. Students may work independently or with a partner. If they choose to work with a partner, the partner must also be in our class. The first step is the problem page your child brought home yesterday, and it is due this Friday, March 31st. Most great inventions start as a problem someone needed to solve, so that’s what the paper is about. Parents may help and give advice, but please make sure this is your child’s invention. Any money spent should be kept to a minimum. Obviously, a few supplies may need to be purchased, but kits and expensive items shouldn’t be used. This is going to be a great learning experience for your child.
