We had a fun week wrapping up our book reports and ending with our school-wide holiday sing and Polar Express Day in our classroom! Thanks to all of you who sent in items for our class activities. I appreciate your help!
Wishing all of you a fun and relaxing break and holiday. I will see your child's sweet, tired face on Thursday, January 5th! Many thanks to all of you for the thoughtful birthday and Christmas gifts from the class. I appreciate your kindness and look forward to using the gift cards over the break. Special thanks to our awesome room moms for planning an amazing holiday party, and thanks to all of our parent volunteers who helped the party run smoothly.
Although we have a short school week, it will be quite busy. Our class auction is on Monday. Please have your child bring in a gently used item to donate for the auction. We have enjoyed listening to several students present their book reports and look forward to finishing those this week. We have several fun educational activities planned for these three days, including PJ day on Wednesday. Important Dates: December 19 Class Auction December 21 PJ Day December 22 - January 4th Winter Break (No School) This past week we were challenged to design and build a shelter using only earth materials that could withstand weathering and erosion on STEM Showcase Day. Be sure to ask us what worked and what needed improving. We also had a special guest speaker, Paul Revere. This next week we will have our second guest speaker, Susan B. Anthony. As the end of the 9 weeks comes to a close, we will be doing final assessments so I will not be introducing any new concepts with the exception of the new Spelling sort. Our second class auction will be on Monday, December 19th so your child may bring in an item/items from home that they would like to donate for the auction. Remember that you do not need to buy these items - they can be gently used items that your child no longer uses.
