I've taught at several amazing schools in Cobb, but I can honestly say that the Tritt Tiger Foundation surpasses the Foundations at any of the schools where I've been. That's because of YOU - YOU are the TTF. The Foundation funds our amazing Science teacher's salary. The kids and teachers love Mr. Giunta! The TTF also helps provide our students with the latest technology at their finger tips. I join the TTF every year because I know they have each student's success as their number one priority. It does not matter what amount you donate. Every donation positively impacts your child's education at Tritt. Will you please join the TTF and help us make our goal of 100% class participation? Thank you for working alongside me to provide all of our students with the best education possible!
Many thanks for the supplies that many of you have donated to the classroom. I cannot fully express the excitement of the class when we saw a big box with Scoop Chairs delivered to our door! That is probably the #1 sought after item in the room. The kids are also having a great time playing with the sidewalk chalk, jump ropes, and balls at recess! This week we had our orientation lesson with Mrs. Bates in the ILC. Your child may return, renew, and check out new books in the morning after checking into the classroom. On Monday I will send home permission slips for Fire Safety Village - this is one of my favorite field trips of all grade levels! Please sign and return the form as soon as possible. Please complete your child's lunch selection on the back side of the form. Reminders:

It's going to be a great year! Andrea Waters Welcome to Second Grade! I look forward to seeing you at Meet and Greet on Monday, July 30th from 11:00 - 11:45. Please note that this time is different than the school-wide 2nd grade time due to a family commitment.
I hope you have a fun and relaxing summer! Andrea Waters Many thanks for a GREAT year with your second grader! I have enjoyed getting to know their unique personality and watching them grow. I appreciate your support throughout the year. I would love for you to send me pictures and keep me updated on your child.
Wishing you a fun and relaxing summer! Andrea REPORT CARDS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR PICK-UP:

Can you believe it's your precious child's last week of Second Grade?
Reminders for the last week of school:
What an amazing week! We started off on Monday with a fun field trip to the Chattahoochee Nature Center incorporating our Science standards on life cycles and finished the week with one of my favorite days of the school year - Arts in Ed Day! You will definitely want to ask your child about the harpist, the magician, the storyteller, the juggler, and the Atlanta Braves organist.
Thanks to all of you who joined us for our STEAM Showcase which also focused on our Life Cycle standards in Science. All of the groups did an outstanding job creating a video of a plant's or animal's life cycle without using words or text! It was a challenge, but the students collaborated, thought critically, and rose to the occasion. Next Friday is Field Day! Please have your child wear their Field Day shirt if they purchased one and tennis shoes. If you want your child to wear sunscreen, please apply it at home before sending them to school. They may wear a hat and/or carry a water bottle with them, but it is your child's responsibility to keep up with their belongings. Please label hats and water bottles with your child's first and last name. Here's what we're learning the week of May 7th: Math - Arrays; Odd & even numbers Reading - Charlotte's Web Novel Study Writing - Opinion Science - Life Cycles Social Studies - Goods & Services (scarcity, opportunity cost, spending vs. saving) Guidance - Thursday this week Upcoming Dates: May 11 Field Day (k-2 from 9:00 - 11:00) May 17 End of Year Party 11:00 - 12:00 May 22 - 23 Early Release Days (School dismissed 2 hours early) May 23 Last Day of School |
