Service Council Summer Book Swap is coming... It is a good time to clean out your children’s book shelves before more are added over the summer. Please set aside the GOOD CONDITION but unwanted books for the Service Council Summer Book Swap and Labelle Elementary Book Drive! For every 2 books they donate students will receive 1 ticket. Each ticket can be used to get one “new” book. At the end of the week any books not selected will be donated to LaBelle Elementary to build their teacher lending libraries. This is a fun cause and teaches our children about kindness and service by recycling their already read books, helping others, and getting “new” free books at the same time.**We are unable to accept donations for books that are either preschool reading level, religious, sticker, small chick-fil-a books or adult genre. Dates: May 1st-5th- Gently used book drop off- For every 2 books donated students will receive 1 ticket. May 8th- 12th - Students can redeem tickets for “new” books for summer reading enjoyment. Thank you for your support! Tritt Elementary Service Council The students attended a kick off yesterday for the third grade Invention Convention. Ask them about the fun, inspiring videos they saw and about the inventions the kids had created. MOST of the first steps will be done at school. Mrs. Bates and Mrs. Pascual are working together with the students, and they will use class time in the ILC and Computer Lab to complete much of the work. The projects are due May 3. Students may work independently or with a partner. If they choose to work with a partner, the partner must also be in our class. The first step is the problem page your child brought home yesterday, and it is due this Friday, March 31st. Most great inventions start as a problem someone needed to solve, so that’s what the paper is about. Parents may help and give advice, but please make sure this is your child’s invention. Any money spent should be kept to a minimum. Obviously, a few supplies may need to be purchased, but kits and expensive items shouldn’t be used. This is going to be a great learning experience for your child.
On Monday we will go to the ILC for the Third Grade Invention Convention Kick Off. Be sure to ask us about it when we come home.
